Event Description: In 2016, the Lowell Folk Festival will be celebrating our 30th Anniversary! The Festival is the signature event of our region, and is nationally recognized as a model event for traditional music, ethnic foods, folk craft, and recycling. It takes place in the heart of Lowell along the banks of the Merrimack River every July on the last full weekend, which this year is July 29 – 31 this year. Over 150,000 people will visit Lowell to enjoy this family friendly weekend. The event is and always has been a no-admission fee festival, which is why we are able to attract so many people from all over the United States! Even though admission is “free,” the cost to produce the Festival comes close to $1,000,000 a year! It is only because of generous supporters that we have been able to keep this world renowned Festival going into a 4th decade! Friday night, Saturday and Sunday event.
