Event Description: Diabetes is what we call an invisible disability because you can't see someone has it by looking at them. As a mom of a diabetic son who was diagnosed at 15 months old I know first hand the 24/7 struggle and the fear, no terror that is associated with the daily routines of having a child with diabetes. I also know first hand what its like to wake up to a seizure because of diabetic shock or to rush a child to the hospital with an average cold because of the effects a minor illness has on their blood sugar levels. Service Dogs by Warren Retrievers, a 501C Non Profit breeds and trains labs to detect blood sugars and alert the diabetic, retrieve medical supplies and or food from a designated area and even call 911! Please join us for some laughs and love. I need your help in raising enough money to provide one of these dogs to my son Pete and so many other young adults and children who need this critical assistance. Diabetes is a family disease, it effects everyone so these dogs become part of a family and provide a life saving contribution. SDWR is a unique non profit as it asks the recipients to help with fundraising. Please join us! Together we can provide a wonderful support to a family and a loving family to a dog. A pup for Pete !
