Event Description: The 30th Annual Lend-a-Hand Auction will be held on Saturday, February 22, 12 noon – 9 pm, and is a live, televised event that will be aired on local Comcast public access channels in the Greater Newburyport and Haverhill communities, as well as streamed on the web through www.portmedia.org. A special pre-view and pre-bidding of all auction items will be open to the public on Thursday, February 20, from 5:30 – 8:30 pm, at the R.A. Nock Middle School, 70 Low St., Newburyport. This year we will again offer the opportunity to pre-bid on some of our auction items through Bidding for Good prior to Preview Night and the televised auction!! The online Bidding for Good portion of the auction will be held from February 3rd through February 17th at www.biddingforgood.com/opportunityworks. High bids from the online auction will be transferred to our Preview Night and those high bids will be transferred to the live televised auction. You must watch the live auction to make sure you are the highest bidder on your favorite items! The ‘Lend-a-Hand’ Auction is the agency’s signature fundraising event and represents an increasingly important source of operating revenue while enjoying a true community effort.
