Event Description: The American College of History and Legal Studies (“ACHLS”) and Massachusetts School of Law (“MSL”) will host a free seminar entitled “McClellan Takes Richmond! Really?” on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 9:00 am to 12 noon. Members of the public are welcome to attend the seminar which will take place at the Massachusetts School of Law at 500 Federal Street, Andover, Massachusetts. The free seminar will be led by Professor Michael B. Chesson the Founding Professor and Dean at the American College of History and Legal Studies, and former Professor of History at the University of Massachusetts/Boston. Professor Chesson is the author of four books about the Civil War, and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in history. Professor Chesson’s full bio can be found at www.achls.org. This event featuring a roundtable discussion will mark the 150th anniversary of “the grand campaign,” Gen. George McClellan’s mammoth offensive to capture Richmond in the spring of 1862.
